To believe or not to believe


Fallacy : The major and expensive skin-care brands are using the latest scientific ingredients.

Truth : Shockingly, most expensive major cosmetics brands are not at the forefront of skin science. They are a few years behind. First they watch the little guys like myself or other doctors’ brands introduce new ingredients, and then, once the dust settles, jump in themselves.

They are, after all, large, conservative corporations that move slowly and cautiously. Few of the major companies have medical doctors on staff. It often takes major cosmetics companies years to include a new, effective ingredient – and then they only venture in by using minuscule amounts that may offer minimal benefits. This practice is good for marketing but bad for achieving results.
