2010 passes in a blink of an eye, don’t you agree?
Well, 2010 has been a rewarding year for me. It was a eventful year too, with plentiful of irresistible opportunities offering to me and I was glad to be able to preview bountiful of new launched products too.
One thing I have never stopped doing for the entire year of 2010 is painstakingly searching for the BEST beauty products, not just for myself but also for my readers too. And during the search, I was glad to uncover a couple of great products which I have never came across before.
In fact six months ago, I have published a post on ”My Search for the BEST & WORST Beauty Products In First Half Of The Year 2010“. The post featured all the BEST and WORST beauty products I have tested during the first half of the year in 2010.
And now as we have already embarked into 2011, I’m here to share with you my search for the BEST & WORST Beauty Products during the entire year of 2010.
All the BEST and WORST beauty products that are featured below are the ones I have tested in 2010 only. That does not include those products I have yet tested but were received in 2010. These products will be bought forward to 2011 instead. The products include Tony Moly, Kiehl’s, Vichy, Perricone MD, L’oreal, SANA, Clarins, Elizabeth Arden, Dr Cilabo, Benefit Cosmetics and many more.
And those products that I have used and tested in 2009 were featured at “My Search for the BEST & WORST Beauty Products in 2009.

Why do u think that Estee Lipstick is the worst? It is because it is too drying due to the long lasting effect?
Hi Shirley,
It’s too soft and it breaks at the base.
Hi shirleen,
Thanks for sharing on ur blog!
I’m curious though, how do u decide if any product is good/bad? Eg for eye products that claim to get rid of dark eye rings, prevent wrinkles etc – I’ve tried numerous products but never really could tell if any product worked for me
Or like for sunscreens/ sunblock, how do u tell if they are good or works for u?
Hi Pynk,
How I determine if the product is good or bad depending on various factors. It could be the texture, the colors, the packaging, the irritation occurs, the effectiveness, the finishing, the results and many more…
For the sunscreen, it will strongly depend on the SPF factor, the finishing (white cast for eg), the protection against the sun and the ingredients contain in it.
Hi Shirleen,
I have heard or spot on net that many chemical suncreen are “bad” or could cause skin cancer and recently about the zinc oxide with potenial harm. Foe oily skin like mine, SPF 50 seems to high so I prefer SPF30/40. Hence i guess mineral suncreens may be safer. What do u think?
Shirley
Hi Shirley,
In fact, zinc oxide is a mineral sunscreen ingredient. For now I will try to avoid this ingredient until there are more reports on its safety.
Hi shirley,
why did you say that facial slimming with botox is the worst non invasive treatment?
Hi Rachel,
The facial slimming with botox performed by Dr Z is the worst non-invasive treatment I’ve done in 2010.
Hi Shirleen,
Why you think SkinCeuticals Serum 20 AOX+ the worst anti-aging serum? I thought Vitamin C is an effective anti-oxidant and anti-aging ingredient?
Hi Chloe,
It caused severe irritation on my skin. Yes, Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant but it can be very unstable and I guess 20% concentration is too strong for my sensitive skin.
