A couple of weeks back, I was delighted to attend my first La Mer Event to preview its latest ‘miracle’ cream – The Moisturizing Soft Cream. Many thanks to Skincare DB for extending this invitation to me.
The Moisturizing Soft Cream is the latest addition to the original Cr¨me de la Mer and other three La Mer moisturizers which are The Moisturizing Lotion, The Moisturizing Gel Cream and The Oil Absorbing Lotion. Each has the same amount of Miracle Broth and benefits delivered in five different texture preferences.
Launched in 1996, the original Cr¨me de la Mer is said to improve firmness; and lines, wrinkles and pores become less apparent.
Before I go into depth on the five unique textures, let me share with you the story of the Miracle Broth and the legendary Cr¨me de la Mer.
Half a century ago, aerospace physicist Dr. Max Huber suffered burns in a laboratory accident. Neither medicine nor science offered the benefits Dr. Huber sought, and he began a personal quest to transform the look of his skin. 12 years passed. 6,000 experiments were conducted. Finally, he perfected the precious, nurturing Miracle Broth, which he incorporated into the very first La Mer formula, Cr¨me de la Mer.
A Journey of Nature and Science
Dr. Max Huber discovered Macrocystis Pyrifera, a sea kelp from North American Pacific, as the miraculous resource.
Macrocystis Pyrifera, with fronds reaching as long as two hundred feet, is rich in minerals and has the ability to grow at a rate of two feet a day in the prime growth seasons. With its endless ability to regenerate itself, nourishing properties and the way it formidably retained moisture, sea kelp held promise and hope for healing.
Dr. Huber combined sea kelp with the simplest and purest ingredients — calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, and lecithin, Vitamins C, E and B12, along with oils of citrus, eucalyptus, wheat germ, alfalfa and sunflower. He developed a unique three to four month biofermentation process that used light and sound to slowly transform the ingredients. The result was the nutrient-rich, precious Miracle Broth which lies at the heart of La Mer.
Dr. Max Huber saw that with regular use, skin renewed itself, becoming soothed and rejuvenated. Over time, firmness improved, skin looked virtually ageless. Lines, wrinkles and pores become less apparent; redness and irritation were visibly reduced. Skin was immersed in moisture, sensitivities soothed, radiance restored.
