Shu Uemura Introducing TSUYA Skin Youthful Radiance Generator (With Giveaway!)

Japanese brand Shu Uemura, famously known for its make-up products and cleansing oils, has recently launched a new anti-aging serum – TSUYA Skin Youthful Radiance Generator – that is said to help achieve a porcelain-fine, petal-soft, translucent glowing skin in just 7 days. Retailing at S$108 for 30ml, it is available islandwide in Singapore from September 2012.

Mr. Shu Uemura believes that “beautiful make-up starts with beautiful skin”.

Shu Uemura has analyzed more than 5,000 individual cases of Asian women’s skin to scientifically understand what is need for skin to be perceived as ‘ideal’ and 6 key parameters was found – smoothness, porelessness, translucence, an even tone, a fine texture and good skin color. When all these factors are present, skin radiates beauty and this is what makes ‘ideal’ skin.

Pink skin tone is another factor for a youthful-looking skin. With age, skin takes on a more yellow tone and the complexion tends to become uneven, giving off a dull-tired impression. To achieve an ‘ideal’ skin, it is important that skin retains its healthy pink tone and even color.

TSUYA Skin, Japan’s word for ‘ideal’ skin, is designed to unlock innermost workings of the skin and harness the latest discoveries in cellular biology to reactivate cell regeneration and reveal a dramatic skincare solution that reaches new heights in achieving beautiful, youthful skin.

Shu Uemura believes skin has a “youth power switch” that reactivates cell regeneration to keep cell functioning and healthy. However as we age, the functions of almost all of the skin’s cellular switches change, weakening the skin’s self-regenerate ability and leading to dull, rough and tired-looking skin.

Shu Uemura research center in Tokyo has selected a “Rhamnose” receptor that remains stable despite the aging process and is able to continue to transmit vital signals to skin cells. Rhamnose, a molecule inspired by the ‘secret’ of the Enju flower, is said to penetrate deeply to reactivate the skin’s youth power switch, boost cell regeneration and provides significant improvement in all fundamental skin layers to achieve ideal skin.

A self-assessment test was done on 52 Asian women between 27-50 years old using TSUYA Skin essence twice a day for 4 weeks, results showed that 100% claimed their skin feel softer, suppler and skin quality looks improved. 98% claimed their skin look smoother and radiant.

A consumer tests was done with 100% of participants saying that they would buy TSUYA Skin after trying it, making the results the best in the history of Shu Uemura! Users reported their skin felt smooth, looked younger and more translucent.

Disappointed to spot ‘Alcohol Denat’ listed fifth on the ingredient list. It may likely cause inflammation and drying for my sensitive skin. This essence also contains Mica that gives sparkle and shine to the skin hence your skin may appear radiant upon application. However no skincare benefit from Mica at all.

Its light fluid texture, that is in light pink in color, absorbs into the skin pretty easily. It has a rather intense fragrance scent which I’m not comfortable with it. My sensitive skin doesn’t like anything that is too fragrance-scented.

Shu Uemura also introduces a new additional TSUYA product to its line – TSUYA Skin UVUB Mousse. TSUYA Skin UV Under Base Youthful Radiance Mousse, with SPF 30 PA++, provides superior coverage with 24 hours hydration for a flawless, porcelain and dewy finish. It is said to be 17 times lighter than regular liquid- and cream-type makeup bases. Retailing at S$78 for 50g, it will be available islandwide from October 2012 onwards.

Hi Shirleen, I ve just hit my big 3 a few months ago and even tho I muz say I am lucky to be spared of any obvious crowfeet/wrinkles, I have lost the glow and radiance I used to exude in my earlier twenties. My skin is dull and starting to show signs of pigmentation with enlarged pores at the cheek area.

  12. TW says:

    Hi Shirleen,

I wanted to join the contest until I saw alcohol denat in the ingredient list. If you know, please share with me why so many skincare products have alcohol denat as an ingredient? I have very fragile skin and would rather err on the side of safety.

  13. Shirleen says:

    Hi TW,

It is claimed that alcohol denat acts as a cosmetic astringent, solvent, preservative or delivery vehicle that help in better penetration of the products into the skin.
