Review – AFC Chef’s Diet Risotto, Unveil My Favourite Meal Replacement Flavour!

Last week, I have briefly introduced a low-calorie nutritious meal replacement – AFC Chef’s Diet Risotto.

This new delicious meal replacement, by AFC Japan, is exclusively designed for weight-conscious consumers who tend to overeat or consume more calories than what their body can use up. When excess calories are stored in the body, they will naturally convert into fat.

In order to lose weight effectively and permanently, it is best to reduce the calories intake and increase in physical activity. AFC Chef’s Diet Risotto, a low-calorie nutrient-dense gourmet meal replacement, which works to control calorie intake by reducing food portions while keeping you satiated, is a perfect solution for weight-conscious consumers.

5 Tasty Flavours

AFC Chef’s Diet Risotto (S$36) contains 5 pouches (in 250g), one with each delicious flavour. From clockwise : Curry Stew, Tomato with Basil, Seafood, Cream of Mushroom and Assorted Cheese.

I’ve managed to taste all 5 flavours and guess what is my favourite flavour? Yes, it’s the Tomato with Basil! In fact, all flavours are very tasty and I have a hard time picking one.

Mediterranean Seafood – it contains small bites of Japanese scallop and Japanese littleneck clam. Taste a little like clam chowder.

Curry Stew – it contains small bites of chicken and I actually adore this non-spicy Japanese curry taste. It has high vegetable content.

Cream of Mushroom – it contains small bites of mushrooms and potatoes with a light creamy sauce.

Assorted Cheese – High cheesy taste as it makes from four cheese (Parmesan, Cheddar, Gouda, Gorgonzola).

Review my favourite taste – Tomato with Basil

Ingredients : Vegetables (tomato, onion, carrot, mushroom, and celery), konjac rice, tomato paste, vegetable extract, chicken, olive oil, chicken stock, starch, salt, collagen peptide (gelatin), dolomite, Mirepoix paste, spices, yeast extract, calcium lactate, ferric pyrophosphate (iron), and calcium hydroxide. (Part of the raw materials contain milk constituents and soybean)

This is my first taste of low-calorie meal replacement and to my surprise I actually find it very tasty!

This meal replacement is not only delicious but it is also nutritious too. It is so convenient and all I need is to either put the sealed pouch in boiling water for 5 minutes or just simply pour the content into a deep bowl, cover up and put into microwave for 2 minutes.

What I like about AFC Chef’s Diet Risotto is that it makes dieting so easy and breezy. All I need is to replace my heaviest meal of the day (usually dinner) with one pack of AFC Chef’s Diet Risotto. For example if I replace nasi lemak rice (equivalent to 800cal) to AFC Chef’s Diet Risotto (approx 150kcal), I can actually save up to 650kcal per meal! And 650kcal is actually equivalent to 3.3 hours of walking!

This delicious authentic Italian-style Japanese meal replacement is a perfect alternative to any other diet food.

It contains a blend of full grained white rice and konjac. Konjac is a low-calorie ingredient made from Japanese konnyaku potato and has a similar texture to rice. It also contains generous amount of collagen peptides (1000mg) to help provide firmer and radiant skin.

This tomato flavour is extremely tasty! It actually makes me want to eat more. And it is only 152kcal! It provides sufficient energy that is equivalent to a full meal.

It contains 5.3g of protein, 3.5g of fat, 24.9g of carbohydrates, 900mg of sodium, 360mg of calcium and 8.8mg of iron.

I can still remember the taste and I’m actually craving for it again! It is easy to digest and it tastes very similar to porridge. The high fiber from blend of white rice and konjac provide sustained fullness for a tasty low-calorie meal.

After consuming all 5 flavours of AFC Chef’s Diet Risotto within a week, I actually lose 1kg – from 52kg to 51kg! Even though I have been snacking non-stop lately, all those Chinese New Year cookies and ba kua, I still manage to lose some weight. I’m actually pleased and amazed with the result! ;-)

I can’t wait to try all flavours again! I will definitely do that after my post Chinese New Year! :-)
