[Review] Thermage Total Tip Treatment – Collagen Booster

Skin sagging is often considered an inevitable part of aging.  Although aging may be inevitable but I believe the rate of aging is certainly not. With this in mind, I’m constantly taking steps to delay my aging process as much as I can.

Well, I’m not a fan of cosmetics surgery, not even botox or fillers too. I prefer to age gracefully and to maintain my youthful looking skin naturally without going under the knife.

Do you know the biggest cause of aging skin is the decrease in the production of collagen and elastin? Collagen production in the skin tends to decline with age, as much as by 1% per year after the age of 18, which ultimately leads to aging skin.

I definitely can’t boost my collagen production with surgery, not even collagen cream as the molecule is too big to even penetrate the surface of my skin. Due to decreased collagen production, my skin appears thinner and less firmer.

Hence in order to upkeep my youthful skin and boost collagen production, my ultimate beauty solution is the non-invasive Thermage CPT Total Tip treatment!

The FDA-approved Thermage procedure uses radiofrequency energy to create a uniform heating effect in the deep dermis. This gentle heating tightens existing collagen and stimulates the production of new collagen. It reduces wrinkles and achieves brow lifting, cheek lifting, and jaw line lifting.

For safety precaution, do ensure your practitioner is using the genuine Thermage treatment tip, designed for one-time use.

A month ago, I had Thermage treatment done on my face by Dr. Tyng Tan at Aesthetics and Hair Clinic, located at 391B Orchard Road, Ngee Ann City Tower B, #08-04, Singapore 238873 (Tel: +65 6235 0010). With mild to moderate sagging on my face, I find Thermage is the best choice for me.

Prior the Thermage treatment, a therapist first cleansed my face thoroughly with makeup cleanser. And then she applied two rounds of numbing cream, followed by placing a grounding pad behind my back.

Dr. Tyng Tan began the procedure by doing a test pulse on my face to check my pain tolerance.

She then proceeded to do multiple passes, all over one side of my face, including extra pulses on my jawline and under the chin. After one side was done, she repeated the same on the other side.

With the latest Thermage CPT technology, a gentle vibration sensation has been added to make the treatment extremely comfortable even the energy level is high.

Each time the treatment device touched my skin, I could feel a brief cooling sensation, followed by a brief heating sensation. The heating sensation is a sign that the deep layers of my skin are reaching effective temperatures for collagen remodeling.

I was given 900 pulses on my whole face. I didn’t get to do my neck as it is pretty firm with no visible lines. :D

The whole session, about an hour+, was smooth and comfortable. There is no downtime, I can return to my normal activities immediately after the Thermage treatment. There is no swelling but with very superficial redness which is temporary, I can actually apply makeup following the treatment.

It’s been a month now and I can see a slight improvement on my skin elasticity.

My jawline is slightly more defined and lifted.

A slightly slimmer cheek.

Nasolabial fold appears less visible however the marionette line is still obvious. Usually, I will get to see a more progressive improvement at 6 months.

Thermage has proven to show results and I have been repeating this treatment every year for the past few years. I like the idea that this procedure actually helps to prevent more sagging over the next year or two. The original aging symptoms may still slowly return as the aging and sun damage process continues. But anyway, prevention is better than cure.

The latest Thermage Total Tip, a completely safe procedure with no downtime, is still my best choice to boost my collagen production for a younger looking skin.
