Review – Yves Saint Laurent NEW Le Teint Touche Eclat Compact Illuminating Powder Foundation SPF 35 PA+++

Last year in 2012, I’ve reviewed two awesome beauty products from Yves Saint Laurent – Le Teint Touche Eclat Illuminating Foundation and Touche Eclat Radiant Touch Highlighter Pen. Click here to read the review post of these two products.

20 years after the launch of TOUCHE ÉCLAT revolutionary highlighter pen (today one of the world’s most iconic beauty products that is loved by celebrities, editors and top makeup artists around the world), and a year only after the creation of Le Teint Touche Éclat (a new cutting-edge technology that recreates the magic light of TOUCHE ÉCLAT in a foundation), Yves Saint Laurent Beauté is proud to introduce a new compact powder foundation exclusively created for Asian women. Introducing you the NEW Le Teint Touche Éclat Compact Illuminating Powder Foundation SPF 35 PA+++.

Recently, I was delighted to receive a complimentary Le Teint Touche Éclat Compact and many thanks to Yves Saint Laurent Singapore. The powder compact foundation and the case are sold separately.

Infuses the magic light of Le Teint Touche Éclat, Le Teint Touche Éclat Compact is specifically developed for Asian women to experience the magic light of Le Teint Touche Éclat all day and all year round, even under hot and humid climates, with a long-lasting finish.

This illuminating compact powder foundation now supplements the fluid versions of Le Teint Touche Éclat with an extraordinarily fine yet perfectly covering powder texture.

The ingredients

  • Light Powder Complex – an unexpected fine and soft texture (soft touch bouncy powders and exceptionally small particles of talc) that glide over the skin in a single, infinitely fine layer to give beautifully natural yet sophisticated coverage that does not mask the contours of the face.
  • Hydrophobic and lipophobic powders, which neutralize shine and resist heat and humidity to create an enduringly fresh, stay-true finish.
  • UV sunscreens to provide high-level SPF 35 / PA +++ protection
  • Peony extract, well-known for its anti-oxidant and brightening powers.

The texture is ultra fine, smooth yet light that gives great coverage without the heavy look. I have chosen shade BR20 that matches my skin tone perfectly.

Le Teint Touche Éclat Compact, specifically designed to beautify all Asian skin tones, is now available in a palette of eight shades from beiges to golden and rosy beiges, developed by Lloyd Simmonds, Creative Director Make-up Yves Saint Laurent Beauté.

Upon application, my skin instantly appears brighter yet natural. Le Teint Touche Éclat Compact conceals my skin imperfection and evens up my uneven skin tone perfectly. I’m glad I have chosen the perfect shade that matches my skin tone beautifully.

Thanks to its light and fine texture, my skin doesn’t look heavy nor cakey at all. It gives a semi matte dewy finish and my skin doesn’t feel dry with it. It gives a great natural coverage except the dark sunspots on my right cheekbone area which I need to use a concealer. My pores appear less visible too. My skin redness (rosacea) has disappeared!

A full application with Le Teint Touche Éclat Compact.

I actually like to apply the compact foundation using a brush (such as above) to help achieve a softer, translucent and natural finish.

The picture above was taken five hours upon full makeup with NO single touch-up at all. :D My skin still appears flawless and radiant! The foundation doesn’t melt off my skin nor oxidize after spending about an hour under the sun. Love it! :D

    Hi Shirleen,

Thank you for this review, dont get to know about this until saw your blog.
Anyway, im wondering if you could help me with the shades as my country doesnt have this brand. I am currently using the touche eclat liquid foundation shade B20 and the touche eclat illuminating pen 1.5. If I wanna get this, should I get the same shade B20, too? This is because I noticed you used a different shade for both the liquid and this powder foundation.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Lily,

I have changed the shade to BR20 as I realized my skin tone has turned a little rosy lately. Not too sure if it’s due to any of the skincare products I’m using. I reckon it should be safe to use similar shade as the liquid foundation.

    Hi Shirleen,

I love the lipstick you,re wearing and the colour really suits you as it makes you look younger..May i know what brand you’re using?

I happen to love their liquid foundation and loose powder as well. I was recently given a small sample pack of this powder foundation and yes you are spot on when you say it’s unexpectedly fine and smooth. I’ve yet to try it on just by itself. I’ve been using it more as a compact for touch ups. Do you happen to know the price of the case and the compact?

    • Shirleen says:

      Hi Catherine,

If you’re buying it for the first time, it will cost S$95 inclusive of the compact and the case. For the compact refill, it will cost S$65, including sponge.
