Most of us will probably notice our FIRST signs of aging on the eye area and it is mainly due to 3 key factors. The skin around the eyes is actually up to 3 times thinner than our facial skin and it also produces no sebum to keep it moisture. It is therefore dryer, fragile and sensitive. Our eyes express nearly every emotion and are in constant emotion as they follow the movements of the underlying muscles. As we age, skin around the eyes loses resiliency and collagen, and therefore deeper, more ‘permanent’ lines and wrinkles will form.
So have you noticed any signs of eye aging lately? Are you giving special attention to the eye area? You should if you are not! Well, early prevention is better than cure. The most common signs of eye aging are : crow’s feet, crepey skin on the eyelid, under eye fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin around the eyes, dark eye circles and puffy eyes.
A few weeks ago, I was delighted to be presented a newly launched eye product from Origins, NEW Plantscription Anti-Aging Eye Treatment, for testing and review. It is the latest addition to Plantscription series after the successful launch of their latest breakthrough Plantscription Anti Aging Serum. This new innovative serum claims to have 88% of wrinkle-reducing power of a prescription and as potent as retinoids (a proven wrinkle fighter) with 0% irritation, dryness and photosensitivity.

Plantscription Anti-Aging Eye Treatment – S$78 / 15ml
Plantscription Anti-Aging Eye Treatment, recently launched in October 2011, is the first natural eye product I’ve ever tested. It is now available at all Origins counters at Isetan Scotts, Robinsons Raffles City, Metro Paragon, Robinsons Centrepoint and Tangs VivoCity.
Enriched with Anogeissus Tree Bark as well as Kombucha (fermented Black Tea), this latest Plantscription Anti-Aging Eye Treatment is claimed to help visibly repairs 4 visible signs of eye aging including :
- Diminishing the appearance of crow’s feet
- Reducing under eye cross hatching
- Smoothing crepey lids
- Lifting and firming saggy eye skin
Plantscription Anti-Aging Eye Treatment is FREE of parabens, mineral oil, Paba, petrolatum and Paraffin.
Anogeissus Tree Bark, Plantscription’s main ingredient, is a rare extract from the leaves and bark of the sacred Anogeissus tree that is harvested by local African tribes as a potent wound healer and antimicrobial.
Other key ingredients are Kombucha (helps repair saggy lids and cross hatching in skin around eye area), Magnolia (potent anti-irritant that helps reduce the appearance of dark circles), Siegesbeckia (helps maintain collagen), Vitamin C and Peptides (both proven to boost natural collagen and elastin production).
Some essential oils that can be found in the eye cream are Mandarin, Star Anise, Pink Rose, Lavender and Geranium.
Plantscription Anti-Aging Eye Treatment has a lightweight gel-like creamy texture that easily penetrate into the skin. I have used the eye cream for almost a month now (for morning and night regimen) and I would say I actually like it a lot. Love the texture and the natural neutral scent!
Although it contains minuscule amounts of rosemary extract and lavender essential oil but that doesn’t worry me cos no irritation has occurred so far. I extremely like the light silky creamy texture that glides easily on the eyes and its smooth consistency allows for a relaxing eye massage every night.
Upon application, the skin around the eye areas appears moisture and smooth without feeling greasy at all. The skin stays hydrated for a long period of time and it still appears smooth and moisture in the morning even after sleeping under the air-con for 6 hours. The under eye fine lines appear less visible too.
If you are having a dry skin around the eye areas like me, you might want to give Plantscription Anti-Aging Eye Treatment a try.
Plantscription Anti-Aging Eye Treatment is available at any of the Origins counters at : Isetan Scotts, Robinsons Raffles City, Metro Paragon, Robinsons Centrepoint and Tangs VivoCity.
