.

A few weeks ago, I have gladly received 4 complimentary anti-aging products from Paula’s Choice Singapore and I’ve actually done a review on the first product – Paula’s Choice Resist Daily Smoothing Treatment with 5% Alpha Hydroxy Acid. And now as promised, I’m here to review the second product Resist Weekly Resurfacing Treatment with 10% Alpha Hydroxy Acid, a powerful weekly anti-aging treatment product.

Resist Weekly Resurfacing & Smoothing System

Both Resist Weekly Resurfacing Treatment and Resist Daily Smoothing Treatment are a 2-part AHA anti-aging exfoliating system. Formulated with 10% and 5% glycolic acid respectively that help to resurface your skin for significantly improved tone and texture. They are claimed to stimulate healthy collagen production, reduce wrinkles and signs of sun damage, even up skin tone and improve skin texture.

Usage Frequency :

Apply Resist Daily Smoothing Treatment daily after cleansing and toning (a non-AHA/BHA toner preferred).

Apply Resist Weekly Resurfacing Treatment only at night once to three times per week after cleansing and toning (a non-AHA/BHA toner preferred).

NEW Resist Weekly Resurfacing Treatment

  • Brightens dull, uneven skin tone
  • Unique delivery system for impressive results without irritation
  • Antioxidants and glycolic acid repair damage and stimulate collagen production

Resist Weekly Resurfacing Treatment with 10% Alpha Hydroxy Acid is quite similar to Resist Daily Smoothing Treatment with 5% Alpha Hydroxy Acid but with a higher percentage of AHA (10%). Hence you will only need to use either one on each regimen. Resist Weekly Resurfacing Treatment is considered as one of the few high potency AHA products in the market.

Resist Weekly Resurfacing Treatment with 10% Alpha Hydroxy Acid, suitable for all skin types except probably darker-skinned (black skin) tone, is formulated to help reveal radiant and youthful looking skin. It is claimed in less than two weeks your skin will experience improved texture, color, tone, and a noticeable reduction in the appearance of wrinkles. With ongoing use, skin becomes firmer and is better able to further resist the signs of aging.

This excellent high-potency resurfacing treatment contains age-fighting antioxidants with 10% AHA (glycolic acid) that are proven to stimulate healthy collagen production, combat free radicals and reduce wrinkles.

It is also formulated with a couple of soothing anti-inflammatory ingredients that help provide impressive results without irritation at all.

Review

WOW! I have been using this Resist Weekly Resurfacing Treatment with 10% Alpha Hydroxy Acid for a month now and I have to admit that this high-potency AHA treatment is truly one of the most effective anti-aging products I have tested so far. And what makes this product so amazing is that its strong formulation (with high percentage of AHA) actually shows significant visible results without causing redness and irritation on my sensitive skin at all!

Honestly, prior using this AHA treatment I was a little skeptical if the high percentage AHA will cause skin sensitivity to my fragile skin. To my surprise, there is no redness or whatsoever and in fact I can tell my skin actually loves it very much! ;-)

I’m very amazed to see how much my skin has improved after just one use.

I will use this night resurfacing treatment 2 to 3 nights per week after cleansing and toning. And apply this liquid formula using a cotton pad and gently stroke over my entire face………neck, knee, armpit, anywhere that requires exfoliation and immediate wrinkle reduction…. ;-)

I can actually feel a slight stinging sensation that lasts a few seconds immediately upon using it. This high-potency AHA treatment is recommended to be used only at night and NOT to be used with other exfoliants or scrubs at the same time. I will alternate this Resist Weekly Resurfacing Treatment with 10% Alpha Hydroxy Acid with the Resist Daily Smoothing Treatment with 5% Alpha Hydroxy Acid too. I can actually choose to either leave on or rinse off after 10 minutes (depending on my skin’s sensitivity). So far I have not encountered any skin irritation on leaving it on anyway. After applying this AHA treatment, I will follow with my favorite serums and moisturizer.

It is highly recommended to avoid sun exposure as much as possible and apply a good broad spectrum sunscreen when using this strong AHA treatment.

After using it 2 to 3 times per week and for a month now, the fine lines and wrinkles have dramatically reduced. Although prior using this product I have fairly good skin (other than some superficial fine lines and wrinkles here and there) and I’m quite surprised to be able to notice the significant reduction on the fine lines and wrinkles especially on my nasolabial folds and cheek areas (below eye areas). Unfortunately, I didn’t capture a ‘before’ picture prior to this treatment hence I wouldn’t be able to demonstrate the differences. I’m super pleased with the results!

The occasional skin pumps and adult acne have significant reduced too. My pores seem more refined and smaller. Overall, my skin appears more even toned, smoother and superficial firmer. Thanks to the 10% AHA that helps to increase collagen production. The only thing I’m hoping to see improvement is the stubborn liver sun spots on my right cheek. It doesn’t seem to get lighter.

But all-in-all, I must say that this high-potency AHA treatment truly delivers as what it has claimed. It is one of the best anti-aging products I’ve tested so far. Thumbs up!

Resist Weekly Resurfacing Treatment with 10% Alpha Hydroxy Acid is 100% fragrance-free and contains no dyes or coloring agents. For best result, it is recommended to use in-conjunction with Resist Daily Smoothing Treatment with 10% Alpha Hydroxy Acid.

Hello! I love reading your blog as I am in the hunt of finding the ideal skincare for me.
I was hoping if you can advise me…
I used to have perfect skin when I was younger. Now I am in my early 30s and my skin starts to turn oily, with visible pores and acne prone.
I tried to change my skincare many times but still having the oiliness and breakouts.

They said that my skin is actually dry so need moisturizing but even when I use a water based moisturizing I still break out. And when I don’t use any, my skin is still oily at the end of the day.

I am at my wits end, I really need something to balance my oil and even the SKII essence water does not seem to help :(

    What can you recommend?
    Thanks so much!!

    HI Ayu,

I’m not an expert though and I’m not too sure if your oily skin is due to dehydration. You may want to exfoliate your dead skin cells with Paula’s Choice BHA Gel/Lotion that may reduce oiliness, breakouts and clogged pores. (choose the texture according to your preference) http://www.paulaschoice.com/category/bha-aha-exfoliants#bha

If your skin is due to dehydration and you never like anything that is too rich, you may want to consider the Paula’s Choice Resist Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator. The texture is lightweight, non greasy and it provides pretty good hydration. Boosting hydration may help to curb oiliness.

And if your skin tends to get oily in the middle of the day, you may want to check out the Vichy Thermal Spa Water Spray. Spray it sparely on your face (with makeup on) and lightly dab your skin with tissue paper.
