How does Lux’s use of celebrity differ from that of competitor brands?

Lux encourages women to celebrate the pleasure of enjoying their beauty and they use celebrities as examples of this. Lux differs because they use celebrities in an accessible way, in a way that any woman can relate to. When I film for Lux, I don’t feel like an object of beauty, I feel like a subject where I get to take on a character and celebrate a story.

What particularly attracts you to the brand?

Lux really understands and celebrates women, what it means to find pleasure in beauty on the inside and out.  I feel privileged to be the latest, modern take on the classic Lux beauty; it’s a very special brand to work with.  It’s a joy to work with one of the oldest beauty brands, but in a modern and smart way. That’s very rare for a beauty brand.

You worked with Sunhil on the shoot featured on YouTube, he’s delivered a beautifully sensual piece of film. He’s a great match for the brand, have you worked with him on a project like this before?

Yes I have worked with Sunil in the past for a movie project. But I think with this campaign, he has excelled himself. I had great fun working with him once again on this Lux campaign.

What’s next in store for your fans?

It’s an exciting year with many interesting projects in the pipeline. I have 2 films releasing this year that will see me portray complete different characters from what I have done before.  There is Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Kaminey’ opposite Shahid Kapoor and Ashutosh Gowarikar’s ‘What’s Your Rashee?’, where I play 12 different characters.  I have also just begin shoot for Yash Raj’s ‘Pyaar Impossible’,  a ‘beauty and the geek’ romcom.

The new Lux ad looked like so much fun to film, tell us about it

Yes, the shoot was a lot of fun but it was also a lot of hard work. We used to shoot all night, which made things a little difficult and put our body clocks out of tune!  But, it was all worth it because this has turned into a beautiful ad-film.

As a Bollywood star, you face some challenging beauty conditions e.g. harsh lighting for long periods of time.  Please share some ways you cope with that.

Lux Peaches and Cream is the perfect way to start my daily beauty routine. I make sure I always use a moisturizer to moisturize and protect my skin.  It’s also important to drink plenty of water throughout the day.
