Quite a while ago, I have received 2 products from La Roche-Posay – new reinforced formula Effaclar Duo [+] and new Sensi White [+] Essence.

Effaclar Duo was first launched in 2009 and a new reinforced formula Effaclar Duo [+] is introduced in 2014.

The new Effaclar Duo [+] helps to manage acne-prone skin, unclog blocked pores and reduce severe imperfections like scars or red marks that are caused by acne. Acne is more than just blackheads and spots. Skin is at risk of stubborn marks. And they are identified as the #1 fear for acne sufferers. Red or brown-colored marks thus appear at skin’s surface as well as in-depth. They can take a long time to disappear and may even become permanent.

If you have been following my blog, you probably are aware that I’ve been troubling with pigmentation for a while. When spots occur, they seems nearly impossible to erase.

In-depth skin science research by SK-II has revealed a feedback loop between spots and skin damage – where spots formation damages skin, and the subsequent damage triggers the appearance of more spots. When a spot forms, the skin around it becomes damaged, thereby causing a decline in skin turnover. This skin damage stimulates the mechanisms in our cells that produce melanin, melanocyte cells, to go into overdrive and overproduce the pigment, worsening the appearance of spots. This newly discovered vicious cycle is the reason why spots are so tough to remove once it starts.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream Fresh Hydration


After the recent launch of Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream Intense Hydration (for drier skin types), Kiehl’s is introducing the newest Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream Fresh Hydration (for normal to oily skin types). It is the new improved version of original Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream which was launched in 2011.
