[Review] CoolSculpting Newest Applicator – CoolAdvantage

Many years back, I’ve tried the CoolSculpting using the first generation applicator. CoolSculpting is currently the only “fat freezing” machine approved by FDA.

Click here to read the previous review on the older applicator.

CoolSculpting, manufactured by Zeltiq, introduced newest applicators that now come in different shapes to cater to different treatment areas. Additional benefits is that the newest applicators can decrease treatment times by nearly half for most areas and also you can now utilize two applicators at one time.

So what is CoolScultping?

Rather than using the heating technology to destroy fat, CoolSculpting procedure involves the non-invasive of body fat to break down fat cells, resulting in a reduction of body fat without harming surrounding tissues.

During the CoolSculpting treatment, a non-invasive applicator delivers precisely controlled cooling to the treatment area, specifically targeting the underlying fat and leaving surface skin and other surrounding tissue unaffected. When fat cells are exposed to extreme cold, they die naturally through a process called apoptosis. In the following days, the dead cells are naturally removed by the body’s lymphatic system, which gradually reduces the thickness of the fat layer.

In early August 2017, I was pleased to try out the newest CoolSculpting applicator at Calvin Chan Aesthetic & Laser Clinic, located at 501 Orchard Road #05-11 Wheelock Place, +65 6732 4981 (after hours: +65 9456 7113).

I’m not interested in anything surgical, hence I find CoolSculpting is the best choice to help reduce the stubborn fat on my abdomen that doesn’t seem to respond to regular exercise or calorie restricted diet.

[Review] Thermage Total Tip Treatment – Collagen Booster

Skin sagging is often considered an inevitable part of aging.  Although aging may be inevitable but I believe the rate of aging is certainly not. With this in mind, I’m constantly taking steps to delay my aging process as much as I can.

Well, I’m not a fan of cosmetics surgery, not even botox or fillers too. I prefer to age gracefully and to maintain my youthful looking skin naturally without going under the knife.

Do you know the biggest cause of aging skin is the decrease in the production of collagen and elastin? Collagen production in the skin tends to decline with age, as much as by 1% per year after the age of 18, which ultimately leads to aging skin.

I definitely can’t boost my collagen production with surgery, not even collagen cream as the molecule is too big to even penetrate the surface of my skin. Due to decreased collagen production, my skin appears thinner and less firmer.

Hence in order to upkeep my youthful skin and boost collagen production, my ultimate beauty solution is the non-invasive Thermage CPT Total Tip treatment!

The FDA-approved Thermage procedure uses radiofrequency energy to create a uniform heating effect in the deep dermis. This gentle heating tightens existing collagen and stimulates the production of new collagen. It reduces wrinkles and achieves brow lifting, cheek lifting, and jaw line lifting.

This latest Thermage treatment is no longer painful unlike the older generations. And this Total Tip is the latest generation.

For safety precaution, do ensure your practitioner is using the genuine Thermage treatment tip, designed for one-time use.

A month ago, I had Thermage treatment done on my face by Dr. Tyng Tan at Aesthetics and Hair Clinic, located at 391B Orchard Road, Ngee Ann City Tower B, #08-04, Singapore 238873 (Tel: +65 6235 0010). With mild to moderate sagging on my face, I find Thermage is the best choice for me.

[REVIEW] Enlighten + PicoSure = Two Is Better Than One

Earlier this year, I was invited to try out the PicoSure laser at Dr Joseph Yang’s Aesthetics and Medical Clinic in Wisma Atria. If you had read my earlier review on PicoSure laser, you would have known by now that it is one of the latest generation of aesthetic laser which administers laser pulses in picosecond (trillionth of a second!).

Unlike the previous generation of nanosecond technology lasers which utilise photothermal (heat) energy, picosecond lasers use photomechanical impact (light pulses) to directly target skin concerns without causing thermal damage to surrounding tissue. They are much more powerful and safer with very little or almost zero downtime. And for that reason, they are gaining popularity among the aesthetic doctors in Singapore.

Dr Yang was the FIRST doctor in Singapore to own a PicoSure Laser, and his PicoSure Laser treatment has recently won him the ‘Style: Best Beauty Treats 2016’ award by Style Magazine.

Constantly seeking betterment of his practice of an aesthetic doctor, Dr Yang is always on the lookout for aesthetic medical equipment for his patients. When he saw that there is another high-performance Picolaser (known as Enlighten) that is tunable and highly customisable to treat different skin concerns, he knew he had to get it. So now, he did it once again by being the FIRST and ONLY doctor in Singapore to own BOTH the PicoSure laser and Enlighten laser.

Dr Yang was very kind to invite me for another round of laser treatments.

What is Enlighten Laser? Continue reading →

[REVIEW] My 6HD Eyebrow Embroidery Treatment by Paramedic Aesthetics

If eyes are the windows to our souls, then eyebrows are the frames!

Not sure if you know, but eyebrows are deemed as the most important facial feature on our face. A pair of well-groomed and shaped eyebrows not only accentuate our eyes but also have the power to transform a face.

I didn’t know that until when I started plucking and drawing my eyebrows at the age of 17. My granny scolded me when saw my disastrous and pathetic (over-plucked) brows. LOL! She was my eyebrow master, someone who taught me how and what a pair of good eyebrows should look like (and needless to say, she had a pair of beautifully-shaped brows).

I guess it was from then that I started to get really particular about my eyebrows. And because I do not have naturally thick and beautiful eyebrows to begin with, I would spend 1/3 of my makeup time just to make sure my brows are well drawn in perfect symmetry.

Fast forward many years and one day I realised there’s this thing called “eyebrow embroidery” which was gaining popularity at that time and I decided to give it a try. Unlike tattoo, eyebrow embroidery is semi-permanent and tends to fade over time. After I went for my first, which I wasn’t too satisfied and it eventually faded off, I went for a second embroidery session a few years later. Again, I was sorely disappointed at the result as I felt it was done in a slipshod manner and throughout the embroidery session, I was wincing in pain. There was no numbing cream whatsoever, all I had was some antiseptic/anti-inflammation cream applied over my brows prior to the embroidery session.

Presently, I’m back to square one where I had to go through the tedious motion of drawing my brows every time I needed to step out of the house.

Just when I was feeling sick and tired of drawing my eyebrows, I was invited for a “6HD eyebrow embroidery” treatment at Paramedic Aesthetics. Naturally I was a little hesitant after the disappointing experience I suffered from both the abovementioned eyebrow embroidery sessions.

So I googled for more information on Paramedic Aesthetics and here’s what I gathered online:

[REVIEW] PicoSure Laser – Ultimate Solution For Pigmentation Problems Is Now Available In Singapore

When I first started working, I was constantly plagued by skin woes and they persisted over the years– pigmentation (freckles), blackheads, clogged pores, pimples/acne, u name it, I had it.

But ever since I went for my first laser treatment at an aesthetic clinic, it proved to be the best decision I’ve ever made and I never looked back. The freckles on my face which I hated all my life since I was a child were gone and the rest of the skin blemishes also began to diminish after I started going for aesthetic laser treatments.

From then on, I put all my faith and trust on aesthetic laser treatments. There are so many aesthetic lasers out there that can do wonders, and they always outdo each other by coming out with newer, better lasers with breakthrough technologies.

Early this year, I was invited to a media launch for the FIRST PicoSure laser in Singapore, available only at Dr Joseph Yang’s Aesthetics and Medical Clinic in Wisma Atria, and also had the opportunity to try out this phenomenal laser. Why do I call it “phenomenal laser”? Read on to find out…

[Review] My JMF Multi-Level Peeling Treatment Experience

I was recently invited to experience the JMF Multi-Level Peeling treatment at Annabelle Skin. Since I was told that this is a customised facial treatment, I was more than delighted to give it a try.

Annabelle Skin is located at one of the corners on the 2nd floor of The Adelphi (nearest MRT station : City Hall).

Walking in, the reception area is relatively small but cozy.

I was asked to fill up a questionnaire with questions regarding your medical history, lifestyle and allergies etc etc… After that, I was introduced to my therapist, Grace, who will be doing the facial treatment on me.

Before the start of my facial treatment, Grace lightly removed the makeup on my face and did a skin analysis to assess if my skin condition is suitable for the facial treatment. The skin analysis showed that my skin condition that day was slighted dehydrated but still suitable for the facial treatment.

[Review] Restylane Skinboosters Treatment

One of my beauty secrets to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles is to keep my skin well hydrated at all times. Apart from drinking lots of plain water, I will also apply adequate amount of hydrating serum and moisturizer that preferably contains hyaluronic acid. In fact hyaluronic acid is one of the main components of the skin that actually helps give our skin a radiant look. As we age the skin’s ability to produce hyaluronic acid decreases and can result in drier and thinner skin with a dull complexion. When my skin is hydrated, fine lines and wrinkles will tend to look less noticeable, the skin will appear less dull too.

A couple of weeks back, I was pleased to try out the Restylane Skinboosters treatment, administrated by Dr Chee from Chelsea Clinic at Wheelock Place. Restylane Skinboosters are stabilised hyaluronic molecules of non-animal origin, in a smooth, pure crystal clear gel state produced by patented NASHA® technology. It resembles the skin’s own hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring substance in the skin for restoring hydrobalance, and in turn, making the skin look plump, smooth and elastic. A series of micro-injections are injected into our skin.

[Review] Marie France Pro-Freeze Treatment

Due to lack of exercise and aging, fat begin to accumulate in my lower body and I find it real hard to lose those belly fats! About a month ago, I was invited from Marie France Singapore to experience one of their tummy slimming treatments – Pro-Freeze (PFZ). I get to undergo this trial to share the experience from the recent consumer satisfaction survey, conducted by Nielsen. See below for more info.

Pro-Freeze is a new treatment that uses fat-freezing technology to safely and effectively remove the unwanted fat cells. What Pro-Freeze does is to ‘freeze’ away the fat bulges without the need of incisions, anaesthesia or surgery. With target cooling, the fat is safely chilled to ‘kill’ the fat cells without harming the surrounding tissues.

When fat cells are exposed to an extreme cold temperature, they will be ‘frozen’. These ‘frozen’ fat cells will be degenerated and eventually ‘die’ (a process called adipocyt apoptosis). These degenerated fat cells will be eliminated from the body via the body’s own metabolism system. It is claimed that it can permanently remove up to 25% of the unwanted fat in a single treatment session, thereby reducing the thickness of the fat layer.

Pro-Freeze comes with two medium sized handpieces that help define the two sides of my tummy. I must say Pro-Freeze is pretty similar to Cool Sculpting. I have tested Cool Sculpting once when it was first launched many years ago. Cool Sculpting uses a larger applicator to treat the centre of my abdomen, whilst Pro-Freeze uses 2 smaller applicators that able to define the two sides of my abdomen. Both have their pros and cons, the results will vary depending on our distribution of fat at our abdomen.

[Threadlift Review] Korean Ultra V Lift Procedure

If you have read my recent posts, you must have read my latest review on skin-tightening Thermage treatment which I’ve done late last year. Click HERE to read the review post. I get to see significant results, my face appears firmer and lifted.

However, it doesn’t make my face looks slimmer and sharper. Do you know a V-shaped face will actually make us look more feminine and younger? I was born with a chubby cheek and double chin, and I always envy girls with V-shaped face. As I age, fat starts to gather and fatty pads accumulate on my lower cheeks, jowls and under the chin. :-(

Recently I was re-introduced to threadlift again. As I wasn’t really keen before, I didn’t get much of an impression on this procedure. What I’ve learned is that it is a minimally-invasive face lifting surgical procedure that address sagging underlying tissues of the check and jawline by threading sutures into the skin and deeper soft tissues. The absorbable threads stay within the deep tissues and provide support. Threadlift is considered less invasive than a surgical facelift however it does inherent risks. Threadlift is claimed to be able to help us achieve the V-shape facial we desire and realign sagging tissue without going under the knife.

I was told I made the perfect candidate, thanks to my chubby lower cheeks and double chin (due to aging, fat deposits tend to accumulate around the chin areas).

[Review] – Thermage TOTAL TIP, My Yearly Skin Tightening Treatment

Woof! Time really flies doesn’t it? Can’t believe I’m already in my late 40s this 2015. I must say I’m terrified of looking old.

I can’t deny aging is inevitable. Unlike most of my peers who prefer botox as the quick fix to look younger, I prefer a treatment that can boost my skin’s natural production of collagen to help turn back the clock.

The ultimate beauty treatment that has proven to stimulate my collagen production and take years off my face is THERMAGE! It is a safe and proven procedure that not only firms up my sagging skin, it also gives reliable results with minimal to almost no downtime. It effectively increases collagen production and it gives a long-lasting result! I’ve tried all the generations of Thermage before and I must say the latest Thermage TOTAL TIP 3.0 works the best.

About seven weeks ago, I have done my second Thermage TOTAL TIP 3.0 procedure, performed by Dr Israr Wong at Knightsbridge Clinic located at 277A South Bridge Road. My first Thermage TOTAL TIP procedure was done a year ago. It shows amazing results and is my savior to reverse the signs of aging! Thermage has now become my MUST-HAVE yearly maintenance regimen!

Thermage Total Tip 3.0 is a new and improved tip designed for the use on the face, neck and body that aims to deliver as much as twice the bulk heating volume which allows more tissue to be heated to higher temperatures, hence delivering greater results.

A proven, unique radiofrequency treatment, Thermage can help improve the appearance of sagging or loose skin, giving me a smoother, sleeker and younger look and feel. It works in just one treatment with little or no downtime and delivers a natural looking result. This safe procedure uses patented, FDA cleared technology that delivers heat into the skin to rejuvenate existing collagen and stimulate new collagen growth.
