Review – Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Masque

Recently, I was delighted to receive a surprise complimentary hydrating mask from Kiehl’s Singapore. It is the new Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Masque and is the latest addition to its Ultra Facial line.

Ultra Facial collection, offers a range of hydrating products, was first introduced in the early 1970s with iconic Ultra Facial Moisturizer that was loved by celebrities and fans all over the world.

I have dehydrated skin that easily turns oily in the midday under a hot sun. Hence the foundation doesn’t stay well on my skin. My dehydrated skin is the result of the lack of moisture in the skin. Skin actually turns oily when it lacks moisture, as oil production is increased to lubricate the skin.

I’m very excited to test this product as I have never tried any Kiehl’s mask before and I have always wanted to try an overnight hydrating mask for the longest time too.

Are you familiar with this Korean brand Leaders Clinic? It is a leading clinical skincare brand that is developed by the top clinical experts in Korea. Their mask is one of the hottest selling clinical masks in Korea and it sells over 500,000 pieces in Korea each month. Their skincare line is also well-received by many Korean celebrities too.

Upon opening the parcel, what first caught my attention is the product name of the Snail Collagen Filler 2-Step Mask. Wow! Snail, collagen, filler, 2-step mask? The product name sounds tempting!

In the recent years, beauty products that are formulated with snail properties have been increasingly popular in Korea. It is claimed to have anti-aging benefits. To me, collagen and filler have the same benefits as they are usually made up of hydrating ingredients such as hyaluronic acid to help plump up fine lines and wrinkles. This is solely based on my own assumption anyway as there isn’t any ingredient list printed in English at the back of the packaging to identify on what are the ingredients that actually contain in it.

Review – Paula’s Choice Resist Daily Smoothing Treatment With 5% Alpha Hydroxy Acid

In the recent years, so many anti-aging products have been introduced in the market and to find the best anti-aging products that actually work for you is like looking for a needle in a haystack! A few weeks ago, I was delighted to receive a package from Serenity Allure and it contains 5 pieces of Vita Whitebeam Essential Masks, 5 pieces of N.M.F. Aquaringer Ampoule Masks and a box of Pore Stamping Serum (Blackhead Nose Pack).

The Pore Stamping Serum (nose pack) is retailing at S$17.95 and the Clinie Masks are retailing at $4.95 per piece. All products are now available at selected Guardian outlets. Sephora outlets will be selling the masks (only) from this month August too.

Although this ultra-thin mask looks extremely wet when it’s removed but it doesn’t drip or leak.

Both Clinie masks are made of silk cellulose material that fits perfectly on my skin. The sheer thinness of the mask allows the skin to breathe easily and aids in efficient absorption of the highly concentrated essence.

I actually love the sheer thinness of the mask and it feels super comfortable on my skin. I’ve almost forgotten I have my mask on at times.

I have briefly came across this brand during my last trip to Taiwan last year. Review – Mary Kay TimeWise Moisture Renewing Gel Mask

For this review, let’s talk about moisture! If you have read my earlier post on “Unveil My Beauty Secrets For Good-looking Skin”, you probably are aware that skin hydration is one of my most important factors for a great skin.

Whenever my skin is dehydrated, fine lines will get more prominent and skin will appear more dull-looking. And moreover, my face will tend to get oilier too and that is due to skin craving for moisture.

Therefore in addition to moisturizer, I will always include at least a hydrating product into my skincare regimen. Be it a mask, serum or lotion.

Review – Kiehl’s Epidermal Re-Texturizing Micro-Dermabrasion

For me, exfoliation is one of the most effective way to achieve a radiance and healthy-looking skin. There are so many benefits with exfoliation. First and foremost, exfoliation helps to remove the dead skin cells on the outer surface of the skin and new skin cells will start to grow in the deep basal cell layer of the epidermis. These new cells are plumper, have more moisture and after the dead cells are removed by exfoliation the newer cells are exposed and reveal a healthy glowing and more youthful cast to the skin surface.

Exfoliation also helps to better penetration of rejuvenating topical agents, stimulate new skin cells formation, increase collagen production in the dermis and remove skin pore blocking debris.
