Review – The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Lip Care Stick

In fact, I never have any intention to buy The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Lip Care Stick, but just because I was short of approx. $10 to fill up the total purchase in order to get the discount and this lip balm fit the bill. Haha, go ahead and call me a typical kiasu Singaporean.

But luckily so far, it never disappoints me and I’m glad I have tried this lip balm for my own use. It is definitely considered a no-frills product.

Product claim

A handy mini stick that offers extra-intensive melt-on moisture for the lips, thanks to its innovative concentrate format. Melts and glides over skin as you apply, leaving it feeling soft, smooth and supple.

Ingredients

Well the product name says it all - ”Cocoa Butter” Lip Care Stick. Cocoa butter, its key ingredient, never fails to hydrate my lip. This lip balm also contains a thoughtful blend of nut oils, wax and olive oil.

Review

First I will have to say I really like the texture very much. Its smooth texture blend perfectly well onto my lip. Non-oily or sticky is also a plus point.

It helps to moisture my lip for a long period. The cocoa butter aroma is refreshing too (well I guess either you hate it or love it haha!). Cocoa Butter Lip Care Stick is considered an excellent handy lip balm I have tried so far. Absolutely a great find!

Review – Sisley Nutritive Lip Balm

Sisley Nutritive Lip Balm, Baume Confort Levres, is a unique, emollient lip balm. As my lip tends to feel dry easily, it is essential for me to apply lip balm at least twice daily.

Product claims

With its exceptional repairing benefits, this balm is a true emergency treatment for cracked, dry and chapped lips.

Ingredients

Sisley Nutritive Lip Balm contains a handful of ingredients which are good emollient like helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, dipentaerythrityl hexacaprylate/hexacaprate and hazelnut oil.

It also contains tocopherol and prunus domestica seed extract which are antioxidants.

Texture

Light waxy and non-oily feel

Results

Although Sisley Nutritive Lip Balm is extremely expensive, considering just a lip balm, but it does moisture my lip pretty well. After application, it helps my lip to appear pinkish and moist. I especially love using it during my workout. The cracks and lines have diminished significantly.

If it is not for the jaw-dropping price, I will probably give a good rating for it.

Review – The Body Shop Lip Scuff

Well, as my face and body need exfoliation, so does my lip. My lip is always filled with lipstick and lip balm. Even if I have cleansed off with proper cleanser, it will never be totally cleansed. Eventually, it is layered with dry dead skin cells.

Due to the accumulation of dead skin cells, my lip gets dry easily. So in order to combat the dryness, one beneficial way is to give my lip an exfoliation boost. Hence, The Body Shop Lip Scuff is my absolute lip exfoliant.

Product claims

Say goodbye to dry, chapped lips and prep your pucker for lipstick by removing dead skin cells.

Designed to do

  • Crushed fig stone granules help to gently remove dead skin cells.
  • Macadamia nut oil moisturizes while peppermint oil provides a naturally refreshing menthol scent.
