Review – Nivea Body UV Whitening Serum SPF 25 PA++

Nivea Body UV Whitening Serum SPF 25 PA++

Recently, I was invited to review a new interesting body product, and without much hesitation, I accepted the offer swiftly. It is the new Nivea Body UV Whitening Serum SPF 25 PA++. A whitening serum for body? Wow! Sounds interesting! I’m so keen to try it because it is the first whitening body serum for intensive whitening and repair of accumulated dull and sun-damaged skin. Plus it comes with sun protection SPF 25 PA++ and is enriched with 95% pure Vitamin C!

Majority of Asian women are known to love fair complexion as fairness is equated with beauty and youth. Interestingly, many Asian women will often invest a huge amount of time and money into whitening and sun protection for face, but neglect the needs of their bodies. Since our body is also exposed to the same sun exposure as our face, but how many of you actually apply sun protection products on our body too? Sad to say I actually don’t and I’m one of those lazy ones who have also neglected to protect my body against the harmful sun exposure too. Well, you should be aware by now that frequent exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet rays can cause skin damage, wrinkling and speed up skin aging.

Out of curiosity, I bought this Rosken Firming & Nourishing Cream, a body cream, which I found at one of the neighbourhood drugstore, to see how believing is the claim which said “to firm the skin by up to 60% in 28 days”. WOW!!?

Product claims

Rosken Firming & Nourishing Cream includes the latest in cosmeceutical skin firming technology to create a highly specialised moisturizing body lotion that visibly improves skin firmness, tone and elasticity. Ingredients

Rosken Firming & Nourishing Cream contains some natural emollient ingredients like almond oil, caprylic/capric triglyceride and cetyl alcohol. It also contains lactic acid, a alpha hydroxy acid extracted from milk, which helps to exfoliates cells on the surface of skin by breaking down the material that holds skin cells together.

Other good water-binding ingredients like serine, elastin and urea; antioxidant ingredients like tocopheryl acetate, BHT and yeast extract can be found in the product. It does not contains paraben.

Results

After 28 days, there is not visible improvement on firming, toning or giving the skin more elasticity as it claimed. But it does moisturize my skin pretty well. No improvement on the cellulite reduction too.

Review – Rosken High Potency Vitamin E Cream

I came across this Rosken Skin Repair High Potency Vitamin E Cream the other day when I were shopping at Watsons and what caught my eyes is the label ‘High Potency Vitamin E‘. Rosken, one of Australia’s most trusted and respected skincare brand, combines unique ingredients in their products to provide the best skin care protection.

This emollient-rich body cream is branded to promote cell regeneration for scarring, stretch marks and blemishes.

Ingredients

Its key ingredient, vitamin E (tocopheryl acetate), is said to have many proven benefits. Being an excellent antioxidant, when applied topically to skin, that protect cells against free-radical damage due to sun exposure. An added protection against UVA and UVB rays. Also provide hydration while restoring firmness and elasticity.

It also contains glycerin, a humectant that attracts water and petrolatum that can help the skin’s outer layer recover from damage, reduce inflammation, and generally heal the skin.

The setback of this product is that it contains some small amount of harmful ingredients like phenoxyethanol – a preservative that may irritate skin, mineral oil – may cause allergic reactions and 10 different types of parabens – widely-used preservatives that may pose health risk.

Texture

As this is an emollient-rich cream, the texture tends to be slightly thick and it is more ideal for dry skin.

Results

I have noticed some improvement on my scar marks significantly, as they have appeared to be lighter now.
