NEW Leaders Clinic Snail Collagen Filler 2-Step Mask & Medieu Sensitive Sun Cream

A few weeks ago, I was pleased to receive a parcel with newly launched Leaders Clinic products from Serenity Allure. There are 4 packs of Leaders Clinic Snail Collagen Filler 2-Step Masks, a Leaders Clinic Medieu Sensitive Sun Cream and a large passport case.

Are you familiar with this Korean brand Leaders Clinic? It is a leading clinical skincare brand that is developed by the top clinical experts in Korea. Their mask is one of the hottest selling clinical masks in Korea and it sells over 500,000 pieces in Korea each month. Their skincare line is also well-received by many Korean celebrities too.

Leaders Clinic Snail Collagen Filler 2-Step Mask – S$75 / a box (10 pieces)

Available at Sephora ION & Sephora MBS

Upon opening the parcel, what first caught my attention is the product name of the Snail Collagen Filler 2-Step Mask. Wow! Snail, collagen, filler, 2-step mask? The product name sounds tempting!

In the recent years, beauty products that are formulated with snail properties have been increasingly popular in Korea. It is claimed to have anti-aging benefits. To me, collagen and filler have the same benefits as they are usually made up of hydrating ingredients such as hyaluronic acid to help plump up fine lines and wrinkles. This is solely based on my own assumption anyway as there isn’t any ingredient list printed in English at the back of the packaging to identify on what are the ingredients that actually contain in it.

Japan Trip Diary (Part 5) – Beauty Stores & Skincare Products In Japan

It has been 5 months since my recent trip to Japan in April 2011. I have earlier shared about food, shopping, scenery, hot spring ……………. and now I’m here to share something I love most – Cosmetics in Japan!

I decided to split into 2 posts as there are too many products to feature. In this post, I will be focusing on skincare products.

Shopping for cosmetics in Japan is a JOY! The selections are humongous! Look at the plentiful products, how could you not spoil for choices rite! Well, what I’m showing here are only part of the whole shop. Some beauty stores (shown above) are huge and the size of the whole shop is almost double the size of Watsons stores at Ngee Ann City.

There are so many of such beauty stores everywhere. The interesting thing is that I always manage to find something new and interesting at every shops. I love browsing through the enormous selection of makeup and skincare products. I can spend at least 2 hours in each shop. Thankfully my hubby was quite patient with me, if not I could have spent a day in just one shop alone.

In the recent years, many cosmetics shops such as this at Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade have been hiring shop assistants from China to help serve a large numbers of mandarin-speaking customers from Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Singapore and Malaysia.

Before the shop assistant from China attended to me, I actually have a hard time communicating with one of the Japanese shop assistant. He then brought out a detailed Handy Guide Book by Shiseido (see Shiseido’s logo in white circle) to see if I could find my answer from this guide book. I was just amazed that how much beauty information is covered in this book.

Aqualabel, which launched its first 3 skincare series Whitening, Hydrating and Acne in Singapore in 2010, carry other range of skincare products which are not available in Singapore yet, such as the pictures above.

I believe the “Royal Rich” (in light yellow packaging) products are under the anti-aging series. These different series are actually found at different stores. Although Aqualabel skincare products can be found at most beauty stores but different stores actually carry different ranges to Aqualabel.

Hada Labo also comes in other ranges which are not available in Singapore too. I have actually bought a Skin Conditioner Lotion out of curiosity although I have no idea what is it for hee hee………. I will try to figure it out before I use it. I hope to start using it before end of this year hee hee……….

Found this Hada Labo Collagen Drink from another store.

I have actually bought this new Hada Labo Retinol Lifting & Firming Lotion during this Japan trip, thinking it was not available in Singapore yet. But coincidentally it was actually launched in Singapore a few days after I’ve arrived back. Hmmm…… Anyway, I’ve been using this product for a while, click here to read my review on this new anti-aging product.

SK-II, one of the most popular and prestige cosmetic brands, is easily available everywhere in Japan. Be it at the small beauty stores or the upscale department stores. Surprisingly, although the beauty stores offer massive discounts on SKII products but after converting the discounted price to Sing dollars, it doesn’t seem to be any cheaper to buy in Japan anyway. I feel that the best deal for SK-II products is at Perfumes & Cosmetics outlets @ Changi Airport Transit Areas.

Shiseido Haku Melanofocus, an award winning whitening essence, is formulated with 4MSK and m-Tranexemic acid that is patented by Shiseido.

On its first one and a half years, it has achieved a record with more than 2 million products sold. Lao Niu (牛尔老师) from Nu Ren Wo Zui Da (女人我最大) has ever recommended this whitening product on the popular Taiwanese variety show å¥³äººæˆ‘最大 before.

Since this product is only sold in Japan, I didn’t want to miss this opportunity and bought a bundle set that comes with a whitening mask at 30% discount @ 7350yen (UP 10500yen) which is equivalent to S$116. Quite expensive though. I’m currently using it, do stay tuned for my review.

Review – NEW Bior© Marshmallow Whip Facial Wash

To me proper cleansing is one of the most important basic regimen for my healthy-looking skin. My cleansing process comprises of two steps. Step 1 : using a makeup cleanser to remove makeup, dirt and pollution; and step 2 using a facial wash to cleanse away the residue on my face.

Facial wash is usually available in different texture such as gel, cream, foam or scrub; and I preferably like the gel (no soap) and the foamy texture.

As Japanese women believe that pulling and putting pressure on the skin while washing will lead to loss of firmness on the skin, hence the foam-based texture facial wash is especially popular among the Japanese women.

Recently, I have received a complimentary NEW Bior© Marshmallow Whip Facial Wash to test and review. Kao Bior©, a popular drugstore brand from Japan, offers a selection of products that include facial wash, makeup remover, sunblock, pore pack and body powder.

The collagen enriched (moisturising benefit) and ultra fine fluffy foam (effective cleansing) are the 2 key selling points of this recently launched NEW Bior© Marshmallow Whip Facial Wash.

This ultra fine, soft and dense foamy texture acts as a cushion to your skin that is gentle and prevent cleansing pressure on the skin. So I believe that is why this facial wash is called “Marshmallow Whip” because of the texture similarity – bouncy, soft and cushion feel.

Vita Whitebeam Essential Mask contains potent ingredients such as Vitamin C derivative, tocopherol and y-cryzanol that help brighten dull skin & control the production of melanin. It is claimed to effectively lighten dark spots and pigmentation due to frequent sun exposure and even up skin tone.

N.M.F. Aquaringer Ampoule Mask – Hydrating mask (S$4.95 per piece)

N.M.F. Aquaringer Ampoule Mask contains moisturizing ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid and Ceramide that are claimed to help moisture the skin and reduce enlarged pores. Each N.M.F. Aquaringer Ampoule Mask is claimed to contain equivalent of one ampoule content.

Although this ultra-thin mask looks extremely wet when it’s removed but it doesn’t drip or leak.

Both Clinie masks are made of silk cellulose material that fits perfectly on my skin. The sheer thinness of the mask allows the skin to breathe easily and aids in efficient absorption of the highly concentrated essence.

I actually love the sheer thinness of the mask and it feels super comfortable on my skin. I’ve almost forgotten I have my mask on at times.

It’s been a fairly long time since I’ve attended an extended event by The Sample Store. A few weeks back, I’ve finally attended one again and it was for the Japan K-Palette Bloggers Workshop.

Wow! K-Palette is very generous, that’s a lot of products.

Exclusively for this workshop, K-Palette has specially invited 2 of their lovely makeup artists and a interpreter from Japan for a live makeup demonstration.

Everyone started to gather in front of the makeup artist and a model when the demonstration began.

Makeup artist Sawako Shiratori performing a makeup application on the model using K-Palette products.

I actually like her natural eyebrows created using the new Lasting 2Way Eyebrow. I have gotten to learn some makeup techniques from the makeup artist too.

Below are the K-Palette products I’ve received during the workshop :

In end 2003, she has launched the world’s first ‘Bio-Cellulose Mask’ into the market along with the establishment of her new brand For Beloved One. Many celebrities from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and China such as Barbie Hsu, Annie Yi and Niu Er are fans of this newly introduced cosmeceutical product.

There are 6 skincare series under For Beloved One : Melasleep Whitening, Extreme Hydration, Active Anti-Wrinkles, DelightFresh, Eatwellism and Skin Specialists.

Margaret Wu is proud to pioneer the ever first ‘Bio-Cellulose Mask’ that is made of a biomedical material, which is usually used as an artificial skin and cardiovascular repair material. Her first introduction to this skin-friendly material was during a visit with a biomedical lab. After further research into the production process of bio-cellulose and testing it on herself, she finally found the miracle answer to her unsatisfactory for cosmetic products for years and proudly launched the world’s first ‘Bio-Cellulose Mask’.

Melasleep Whitening Bio-Cellulose Mask, the hero product under Melasleep Whitening range, has achieved great popularity selling over million units since its launch. This world’s first revolutionary mask is made from the microbial fermentation microorganisms, and is evaluated by the US FDA and earned the recognition of high safety. Two weeks ago, I’ve attended an interesting and creative event named “Beauty Scene Investigation” by a well-known global company from Japan that owns several prestige and massbrands cosmetics brands in Singapore. The mission of the day was to identify who are the ultimate “beauty products” suvivors for a murder case.

Wanna make a guess on the name of the major cosmetics company I’m referring to? Well, the answer is SHISEIDO.

Do continue reading to search for clues at the crime scene, to uncover the identities of the true-blue survivors and most importantly to find out on why or how these survivors managed to escape from being KILLED!! Hahahahaha…………are you ready gals, lets go!

Before proceeding to the crime scene, we were briefly brief on the murder case with the help from this investigation board.

So here we were at the murder scene with police tapes all over the place.

Everyone was looking for clues at the murder scene.

There are 6 types of crime scenes and each crime scene is targeted to different range of products. A doll was killed at crime scene 1 @ “Hair Care Street”. Crime scene 2 is the “Facial Cleanser Ave” and the crime scene 3 is the “Base Boulevard” where you can find a chopped off finger on a compact foundation.

The other 3 crime scenes are the “Eyeliner Close” @ crime scene 4, “Mascara Lane” @ crime scene 5 and the “Eyeshadow Road” @ crime scene 6.

In the end, these unfortunate victims (beauty products) couldn’t survive and have eventually been killed due to bad quality, poor ingredients and out-dated formulation. So who has actually escaped from the evil clutches of the serial killer and win the competition?

Well let me unveil the mystery and disclose the identities of the 9 ultimate survivors! These survivors are proud to be the winners at the Watsons HWB (Health Wellness & Beauty) Awards ’11.
