Re-review – New Formulation Fancl Mild Cleansing Oil

I was first introduced to Fancl Mild Cleansing Oil about 10 years ago and it was one of my favorite cleansing products at the time. And I’ve been faithfully using it for a couple of years before switching to different brand later. During the period, there have not been many cleansing oils in the market to choose from and it was quite new in the market too.

FANCL, a leading preservative-free beauty brand in Japan, is considered the first brand I’ve known that contains no potentially harmful preservatives and other additives.

And for that reason, most Fancl products are packed for a 30-day supply; so the product stays fresh to the last drop. To ensure further assurance, the products always carry the manufacturing date together with a freshness sticker and the FANCL Safety Standard (FSS) mark. It is attached to products that meet the standards for safety, trust and gentleness.

Fancl HTC collagen Jelly is a refreshing anti-aging supplement with just 17 kcal. It targets for women who wish to retain youthful skin and slow down the signs of aging.

No added preservatives and coloring. It contains collagen that comprises of 1000 amino acids and cut into small size for easy absorption into the body. It contains HTC collagen 2,600mg, vitamin C 80mg and coenzyme Q10 1mg.

As of now, Fancl HTC collagen Jelly is only available in Japan and Hong Kong. 1,400 yen for 150g x 6 packs (in a box) supply and 150g x 6 packs x 5= 30 packets for 6,500 yen. Recommended consumption : one pack per day.

Review – FANCL Facial Washing Powder

Fancl Facial Washing Powder, is considered one of the most well-known facial foaming wash in the skincare industry. Completely preservative-free, it does not contain any sodium lauryl sulphate or sodium lauryl ether sulphate foaming agent.

FANCL believes that when preservatives in skincare accumulate on skin, it may cause stress to the skin and may bring about harmful effects such as :

Reducing the effectiveness of beauty ingredients
Accelerating skin aging
Damaging skin cell DNA
Promoting the production of immature skin cells, lowering the skin’s natural protection

Product claims

Experience its silky softness as you smooth it on. Feel the bouncy cushioning layer between your face and fingers as the foam works to cleanse away all that dirt and grime, leaving your face feeling smooth and moist all the time.

Ingredient claims

New Fancl facial washing powder now harnesses the power of 3 types of amino acid in its special Amino Hybrid Technology formulation – a Moisture Retaining Amino Acid Cleansing Agent which rids skin of dirt and grime without stripping away its natural moisture; Polyamino Acid which helps to create a creamier, denser foam and Amino Acid (Serine) which makes skin feel wonderfully soft after facial wash.

Foam is commonly perceived as harmful to skin as it is known for robbing moisture from skin, leaving it dry. This is not the case with Amino Acid based facial cleansers.

Harmful Ingredient

Fancl Facial Washing Powder contains potassium myristate, a detergent cleansing agent that is a constituent of soap; it can be drying and sensitizing for some skin types.

Packaging

As Fancl Facial Washing Powder consists free of preservatives, it is therefore only available in smaller packaging of 25g and 50g. Freshness period : 60 days once opened and 1 year from manufacturing date if unopened.

Results

I double my cleansing effectiveness with the help of Fancl Facial Washing Puff. It helps to create more creamy dense foam which is smooth over my face. Although it removes dirt effectively, my skin feels dry and slightly tight after use.

Results

It helps to remove even the most stubborn waterproof mascara and lipstick instantly and completely. It is the only oil-based makeup remover in town that can be applied with damp hands. It is extremely gentle and doesn’t leave any oily feeling. My face doesn’t feel tight after washing and is very suitable for my sensitive skin.
