Dealing With The Early Signs Of Aging

Uneven skin texture, sunspots, blotchiness, fine lines and wrinkles are usually the early signs of aging. Generally the first line of defense when tackling the early signs of aging includes non-prescription skin creams and lotions with anti aging ingredients and these products typically contain antioxidants — substances that speed up cell turnover and increase collagen production.

Defense anti aging with antioxidants

Vitamin A. Widely used as antioxidant in skin care products which proven effective in treating the signs of photo aging, including fine lines and wrinkles, sunspots and uneven skin texture.

Vitamin C. Considered a potent antioxidant for skin. It is essential for the production of collagen and wound healing. It plays an important role in making the skin smooth and soft.

Copper peptides. A relatively new entry in the anti aging arena, copper peptides are antioxidants that play a part in collagen synthesis. Studies have shown that products containing this substance help produce new collagen, which in turn improved fine lines and wrinkles as well as overall skin firmness and appearance. Skin thickness was also improved.

Natural moisturizing factor

Other typical ingredients in anti aging skin creams and lotions include products that help hold moisture in the skin, such as hyaluronic acid, which improves the appearance of the skin and makes fine lines look less noticeable.

With consistent use, these products will restore some elasticity to the skin and reduce the appearance of superficial lines and wrinkles.

However, they won’t work miracles, nor will they attack deeper lines and wrinkles. For this, more powerful products and procedures are necessary.
