Hi Shirleen

I’m a 30 year old male starting to get dull/dry skin and fine lines around the eyes (this part bothers me the most!)

What would you recommend for me?

Great blog, I appreciate that you include some of the science behind it.

Hi Jamie,

You seems to have very dry skin on your eye areas and the dullness is due to dehydration and dead skin surface. Hence, you will definitely need to apply eye cream on the lower eyelid areas day and night.

After applying the eye cream, do a piano massage on the lower and upper eyelids, preferably 50 to 100 tabs each top and lower eyelids. And follow by rubbing both palms to warm up the palms and gently press and cover each palm on each eye. This method will help to warm up the product and provide better absorption of the product into the skin.

There are a few good eye products that you can try on. Depending on your budget, you can try : EUOKO Eye Contour Nanolift, Elizabeth Arden Prevage Ultra Protection Anti-aging Moisturizer SPF 15 PA+++(ideal for day use), ReVive Intensite Eye, Loreal Youth Code Rejuvenating Anti-wrinkle Eye cream.

Hi Mimi,

For dull-looking skin and black & white heads, I will recommend using product contains AHA or BHA. I personally like Paula’s Choice 8% AHA Gel (for dry skin) or 1 or 2% BHA Lotion (for oily skin). Use it after toner, and before serum/moisturizer.

To eliminate scar, you can only treat with non-invasive treatment such as peeling or laser. Sadly there isn’t any skin care products to eliminate the scar.
