The Skincare Products I’m Currently Using

skincare products I'm using

Many peers and readers have been asking me the same question – “what are the skincare products I’m using at the moment?”. My bad for not able to blog about this topic earlier.

For the past few years, I didn’t really have a regular skincare regimen. I kept trying new products (mainly for review purpose) and chucking away relatively new products that I find do not work.

But for the recent months, my skincare regimen remains more consistent and hence I’m ready to share. There you go….

My Day Regimen

1. Clarins White Plus All Spots Brightening Corrector

Clarins White Plus All Spots Brightening Corrector contains Salicylic acid that helps to reduce dark spots by encouraging the elimination of dead cells full of melanin. This easy to use roll-on, with a targeted application, has an extra-concentrated formula to combat pigmentation. It contains high molecular weight (HMW) hyaluronic acid that improves skin hydration for up to 94% after 2 hours of use. I normally use it on the targeted area around the cheekbone. However it doesn’t prevent the new formation of pigmentation on my skin.

2. Laneige White Plus Renew Original Essence

Laneige White Plus Renew Original Essence is a whitening serum that is formulated without four harmful ingredients like paraben, animal ingredients, artificial pigments and mineral oil. I will see better results when I use it together with Laneige White Plus Renew Capsule Sleeping Pack.

3. SK-II Skin Signature Eye Cream

I’ve just finished the last bit of this SK-II Skin Signature Eye Cream. Unfortunately, it has been discontinued and it is now replaced with the new StemPower Eye Cream. Just bought the new StemPower Eye Cream and hope to review it soon.

4. SK-II Facial Treatment Essence

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence is one of my must-have and my current most favorite skincare product. I’ve been using it, faithfully every night, for the past two years. Previously, I only use it as and when I feel like it. It is said that there’s an intrinsic link between long-term usage of SK-II Facial Treatment Essence and better skin quality as we age.

Research showed that 9 in 10 loyal users have better skin compared to non-users in the same age group, with 7 in 10 users having better skin conditions as compared to non-users who are 10 years younger. I must say it does help to maintain my skin youthfulness. This is one product I can’t leave without at the moment! Read more about my amazing results with SK-II Facial Treatment. <grinning>

5. SK-II Cellumination Mask-In Lotion

SK-II Cellumination Mask-In Lotion is the first step of my skincare regimen every night. It acts as a double cleansing process to help cleanse away the residue and dirt that my cleanser has missed. It also helps to exfoliate my skin whenever I rub the soaked cotton pad with lotion on my face. Love the unique emollient silky texture that glides on the skin easily. My skin feels soft, smooth and clean upon using it.

6. Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging Daily Serum

Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging Daily Serum is formulated with potent antioxidant Idebenone that is said to achieve an EPF® (Environmental Protection Factor) rating of 95. It helps to protect skin against free radicals and reduce environmental signs of aging caused by chronic inflammation. Do you know that premature aging is mainly due to extrinsic (external) factors such as exposure to sun, pollution, smoking and unhealthy lifestyle? I apply this serum every morning before my day moisturizer and sunscreen, to help shield my skin from environmental assaults in the day.

7. Sisley Ecological Compound

Sisley Ecological Compound acts as a hydrating enhancer that helps increase my skin moisture level and reduce the fine lines on my forehead. They are almost gone shortly after 3 weeks’ of usage. Though it’s very pricey but I find it’s worth it.

8. Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum

Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum contains a high concentration of ceramide that is said to improve skin hydration and skin’s barrier function. Ceramide, a fatty acid, is actually a main component of the stratum corneum of the epidermis layer of our skin. It prevents excessive water loss due to evaporation as well as a barrier against the entry of microorganisms. This ceramide capsule serum actually helps to strengthen my skin’s barrier function therefore my skin is less sensitive and irritated. A strengthened skin’s barrier function is an essential foundation for healthy skin. There’s a decline in ceramide as we age.

9. SkinCeuticals Physical Fusion UV Defense Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF50

SkinCeuticals Physical Fusion UV Defense Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF50 is one of the best sunscreens I’ve used so far. It is well-formulated and it contains active mineral sunscreen ingredients – 6% of Titanium Dioxide and 5% of Zinc Oxide. These 2 potent ingredients protect skin against harmful UVA/UVB sun rays. The ultra lightweight texture comes with a universal shade that gives a translucent coverage. I don’t have to apply any foundation upon it. It’s free of paraben and chemical-filter.

10. Sisley Phyto-Blanc Clearing Essence With Vitamin C

Sadly, this Sisley Phyto-Blanc Clearing Essence With Vitamin C was discontinued a while ago. I’ve managed to stock up a few boxes ( 8 vials in each box) before it was gone forever. A super great Ascorbic Acid vitamin C serum that helps to brighten my skin and reduce fine lines on my forehead, and also help to boost the collagen production of my skin.

Ascorbic Acid is an unstable yet very potent skincare ingredient, it oxidized easily that may cause skin irritation. It’s so hard to find a good vitamin C serum that comes with a high concentrated of Ascorbic Acid and pH, in a stablised packaging. So sad it has been discontinued. :-(

11. Belif The True Cream – Moisturizing Bomb

Due to work, I spend most of my time in cold weather lately. When the weather is dry and cold, a lightweight moisturizer doesn’t work for me except this Belif The True Cream – Moisturizing Bomb. Although it has a super rich texture but it doesn’t leave any greasy residue upon using it. My skin loves it so much that I actually use it in the day too. It relieves my dry and tight skin instantly.
