Early December in 2012, I was cordially invited for a grand opening gala dinner at the St. Regis Hotel, in celebrating the launch of the new Korean brand in Singapore – Sulwhasoo.
AmorePacific, the Korean company behind the brand Sulwhasoo, also has other Korean brands such as Laneige, Etude, Hannule, Lirikos and Heru under its belt. AmorePacific has been a leading Korean beauty brand for the past 66 years.
Sulwhasoo is a legacy of Korean beauty wisdom that uses Asian herbal remedies for complexion balance and clarity. Sulwhasoo was first launched in South-East Asia @ Changi Airport in 2010 and it is now available in China, Hong Kong and New York.
Sulwhasoo develops beauty care products with focus on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for different consumer concerns. Long favored in Korea for its use of ginseng as key herbal ingredient, unparalleled traditional energy-balancing preparations, and holistic approach to skincare, it offers unprecedented access to the beauty secrets, allowing the customers to tap into the benefits of the pioneering brand’s holistic methods.
The grand dinner were attended by professional makeup artists, celebrities and media representatives. Spotted many super attractive Korean ladies at the event.

A few Korean models were each holding different Sulwhasoo products and we got to sample the product on the spot.

Graceful dancers and musicians from Korea were specially invited to make performances on stage.
Upon the dinner, each guest received a goodie bag that contains an AmorePacific Report 2011, 10th Anniversary of Sulwhasoo ShineClassic Makeup, Osulloc Secret Tea Story of the World, Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum (Tangs’ 80th Anniversary version), Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Cream and Laneige Snow BB Soothing Cushion SPF 50+PA+++.
According to Sulwhasoo, its devotees purchased 10 million cases of cult favorite product First Care Serum since 1997 at the rate of one serum every 25 seconds, a testament to the brand’s elite status abroad.
This Sulwhasoo Concentrated Genseng Renewing Cream is a premium herbal medicinal revitalizing cream that delivers nutrient-rich Ginseng to the deepest layers of the skin. The product is concealed and I didn’t get to snap a shoot of the cream because I intend to open it only when I’m ready to use it.
I was glad to have attended this gala dinner as I got to meet a few of my old friends who I haven’t met for a long time.
