A Beauty Day Out With Watsons!


Many weeks ago, Watsons, Singapore’s No. 1 favorite health and beauty retailer (as confirmed by AC Nielson), have held their first-ever BEAUTY DAY OUT – a beauty party where we get to preview a wide array of skincare, cosmetics, haircare and oral supplement brands to help us look our best, at anytime!

What a great time to pamper and glam ourselves up in preparation for the year-end festivities and finish 2012 with a bang!

It’s gonna be a super long post with loads of pictures! :D


The BEAUTY DAY OUT was held at Fullhouse @ Rendezvous Hotel. As the whole venue was divided into different beauty sections, the guests were divided into a group of five to seven and we were led by a “beauty tour guide” to different sections at one time. This Vichy corner was actually our last stop.

DHC Colllagen Drinks were served as a starter drink.

Our (my group’s) first stop was the ATORREGE AD+ beauty section.

ATORREGE AD+, claimed to be Japan’s No.1 skincare, comprises of a series of safe and high performing skincare products that corrects all skin issues, especially sensitive and acne-based skin. Using natural herbal extracts and innovative nanotechnology that allow products to penetrate deeply into the skin. Founded in Kyoto Japan in the early 1980s, it was formulated by a group of nurses. The first generation was manufactured for sale to the public in 1995. Upon finding that the number of cases of “urban skin disease” such as acne, pigmentation, sensitive skin, eczema and wrinkles were increasingly common, the second generation of products ATORREGE AD+ was created in 2007.

The second stop was the oral beauty and silmming supplement corner displaying products like SlimSpa and SkinBiotics. The Zero Calorie Oven Baked Rice Cracker is super tasty and can you believe it is produced with 0% trans fat! Wow!!

We will then led to the Japanese setting corner to preview a new Japanese hair care range Ma Cherie and Dolly Wink false eyelashes range.

Ma Cherie, “my sweetheart” in French, is a line of hair care that aims to provide individuals with lustrous, soft and silky hair. Formulated with its signature Campagne Honey Gelee, combining with honey and other ingredients, Ma Cherie is ideal for women who desire beautiful hair with a fresh and fruity aroma fragrance. The brand was first launched in Japan and is now available exclusively at Watsons. Prices range from S$8.90 to S$20.50.

Created iconic model and Japanese teen idol, Tsubasa Masuwaka, Dolly Wink is a collection of false eyelashes and eyeliners. Launched in Japanese in November 2009, these products help girls to achieve the Gyaru (adult-cute) look Tsubasa-chan is famous for, a look characterised by blond curly looks and big, bright eyes lined with luscious thick lashes.

Wow! The false eyelashes looks great on this model! Dolly Wink false eyelashes are all handmade by Koji craftsmen, an eye make-up product specialist manufacturer with a history of over 80 years.

15, 16 and 17 are the latest Dolly Wink lashes.

KENT, claimed to be the world’s finest brushes manufacturer, is renowned for its famous bristle brushes, expert craftsmanship and usage of only the finest materials. Founded since 1777, KENT is one of the oldest established companies in Great Britain.

KENT offers a selection of 12 carefully designed premium make-up brushes, prices ranging from S$19.90 to S$79.90 (Kabuki brush on the extreme left).

The hairbrushes receive regular raving reviews from leading hair professionals such as celebrity hairstylist Richard Ward, who is currently the British media’s “most-wanted” hairdresser. Prices ranging from S$19.90 to S$34.90.

Founded in 1993 by a group of makeup artists, CLIO has established itself as one of the top make-up brands in Korea. Korea’s trendsetting mega-star Lee Hyori who has been the face of the top Korean makeup brand since 2010, has helped sell more than 2.8 million pieces of the brands iconic products.

This season, the No.1 eyeliner brand in Korea brings us the latest Waterproof Turnliner Twisturn. Available in 8 sexy shades for S$23.90.

This Clio liquid eyeliner is waterproof and I’m tempted to buy one soon. Can’t decide which color to choose.

Got to preview a few ranges of Bio-essence Professional skincare products (a Singapore brand) such as the hydrating, bright eye, lifting and healing series. I was told by one of the girls that the products are manufactured in China.

Here’s the L’Oreal Paris corner. Some questions were asked based on the props on the table.

L’Oreal Paris believes that the above are the key eye concerns among Asian women.

L’Oreal Paris has recently introduced a new addition to its Youth Code collection. Youth Code Instant Rejuvenating Eye Essence, retailing at S$34.90 for 15ml, is an eye serum that is claimed to boosts skin’s recovery powers and strengthens its barrier function, visibly reducing fine lines, wrinkles, dark circles, eye bags, and other signs of fatigue. Formulated with 2 patented technologies developed by L’Oreal Paris, PRO-GEN and DRAINBOOST. This product is also claimed to be manufactured in China.

Our second last stop was the Marc Anthony corner. (Last stop was the Vichy corner) Marc Anthony True Professional line, comprises of premium stylers, shampoos and conditioners, is founded by renowned celebrity hairstylist Marc Anthony.

The two products I’m tempted to try are the 2nd Day Clear Dry Shampoo and the 30 day no frizz treatment. 2nd Day Clear Dry Shampoo, retailing at S$24.90 for 150ml, was recently awarded the Best of the Best 2012 Beauty Award in Taiwan. It helps to eliminate grime within 60 seconds, leaving hair clean, shiny and full of newfound body.
