2 weeks ago, I was invited to the Za press event to preview their newest whitening liquid foundation – Za True White Plus Liquid Foundation.
The private media event at Selfish Gene Caf©, attended by people from media and Watsons, was held during the day hence I was the only beauty blogger at the event. As the cafe is very near to my office, I took a late lunch to attend the event. A separate preview event will be arranged for the bloggers who couldn’t turn up.
Myself (right) with Stephanie from Watsons.
Celebrity Makeup Artist Larry Yeo was being invited to give a presentation on the new product and perform a product makeup demonstration on a model.
Based on the research conducted by Za HQ, it has shown that Asian women in their 20s use foundation to cover up skin imperfections such as dark spots, pores, patchiness, uneven skin tones and also to achieve a brighter skin tone. Survey has also been done and concluded that most Asian women prefer to use liquid foundation and yearn to have whitening benefits in the foundation.
Since the launch of Za in 1997, the brand has won numerous awards with their various best-selling foundations and base including Za Skin Beauty 2-Way Foundation, Za True White Plus 2-Way Foundation and Za Concealer Perfection.
And now in 2012, Za is proud to launch their newest whitening liquid foundation that is based on the target group’s preferences to help conceal imperfections while providing a brighter skin tone.
Za True White Plus Liquid Foundation is formulated with Bright White Complex which comprises of Spotless Brightening Powder and Poreless Powder that help minimize dark spots, freckles and pores and achieves a radiant translucent finish.
Vitamin E provides antioxidant benefit and Vitamin C derivative inhibits melanin production and reduces the look of pigmentation.
Za True White Plus Liquid Foundation comes in 6 shades with 5 yellow undertone and 1 pink undertone. It is formulated with SPF 25++ that helps protect skin against UV exposure.
I have learned from Larry Yeo, the guest celebrity Makeup Artist, that the pinkish shade is especially suitable for those with very fair skin. He has helped to select the correct shade for my skin tone. I’m taking the OC0W, the lightest yellow tone. In fact, all yellow shades have a tinge of pink in it and that helps to make our skin appears brighter.
Za True White Plus Liquid Foundation is formulated with Bright White Complex (Spotless Brightening Powder and Poreless Powder) that helps reflect and diffuse light for a radiance and brighter skin.
To demonstrate the effects of lighting on skin appearance, 3 backdrops (white fluorescent light, warm yellow light and natural sunlight) were set up at the presentation corner.
Larry Yeo further demonstrated the effect of the lighting by shining the white fluorescent light on the model face…..
……and followed with warm yellow light…………
………and lastly with the natural sunlight…….. So have you noticed the model’s skin tone appeared differently on different lighting? Hence in order to achieve the best makeup result, it is recommended to apply makeup under the natural sunlight.
Learn from Larry the correct way of applying liquid foundation in this short video.
Upon application, the model’s skin appears absolutely flawless, smooth, bright and radiance.
During the event, we were also introduced to the new Za Deep Cleansing Oil in a larger size in 200ml.
After the presentation, each guest was given a chance to experience coffee art decoration. I didn’t get to try it cos I got to rush back to office after the presentation.
The texture is ultra-light and fine which doesn’t feel greasy on my skin at all and it’s pretty watery as compared to liquid foundation from other brands. The liquid foundation dries up pretty quickly upon application. It gives a natural, semi-matte and sheer finish and also effectively provides a great coverage. Love the texture and the natural finish.
Za True White Plus Liquid Foundation, retailing at S$23.50, will be exclusively available at all Watsons stores on 1st March 2012.
The large Za Deep Cleansing Oil, retailing at S$22.90 and in 200ml, will also be exclusively available at all Watsons stores on 1st March 2012.
