My 10 Most Must-Have Beauty Products At The Moment!

.

After much persuasion from some lovely readers, yes yes yes I heard you <grin>, I decided to unveil my “10 Most Must-Have Beauty Products At The Moment!” This is something I wanted to share with my readers for the longest time too! ;-)

Frankly, to pick 10 beauty products from the loads of beauty products I’m currently using seems pretty easy for me. These 10 beauty products are not only my most favorites but also my most essential beauty products that I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT AT THE MOMENT!

Nothing to be surprised about, there isn’t any makeup product among the 10. The makeup trends are changing rapidly and hence it’s kind of difficult to select a must-have makeup product. But how about essential makeup product such as foundation? Well actually, foundation is something I can live without as I hardly use it anyway unless I have an event to attend on the very day. Usually I will just lightly dust a thin amount of loose powder on my face and complete the look with a tinge of creamy blusher on the cheek areas and lip gloss…. and I’m ready to go!

But if you wanna me to name 1 must-have makeup product at the moment, it will be Clarins Colour Quench Lip Balm in 04 Raspberry Smoothie! :-)

1. Sisley Phyto-Blanc Clearing Essence With Vitamin C

The best Vitamin C serum I’ve tested so far! Thumbs up for the innovative packaging that helps to stabilize high concentrated 5% ascorbic acid. As each box of 8 vials represents 2 months of treatment, I will make it a point to use 2-3 boxes per year. It helps to boost up collagen production and leaves a smooth, clear and luminous complexion. The price is expensive though (around S$380) but as long as the product is good, I’m more than willing to burn a big hole on my wallet! <grin>

9. Paula’s Choice Daily Smoothing Treatment with 5% Alpha Hydroxy Acid

One of the best anti-aging products I’ve used so far! Although I’ve only started using this product not long ago and I’ve swore I can’t leave without it every day! An excellent formulation that contains potent duo exfoliants – 5% glycolic acid and salicylic acid that help to exfoliate the dead skin cells effectively in order to reveal a youthful and radiant looking skin plus it contains a couple of beneficial antioxidants to help fight the free radicals too!

10. Paula’s Choice Weekly Resurfacing Treatment with 10% Alpha Hydroxy Acid

Another one of the best and effective anti-aging products I’ve tested so far! As this weekly treatment is twice stronger and more potent than Daily Smoothing Treatment, I will only use it 2 to 3 times per week. This high-potency AHA treatment (in 10% AHA) helps to increase collagen production and actually shows significant visible results without causing redness and irritation on my sensitive skin at all! Woof!

How do you use AHA shirleen? At night or in the morning? If I use retinol and anr, and I want to use aha too, which one goees first? Thank you

  2. Shirleen says:

    Hi Annette,

I use (alternate) both AHA products only at night. Since retinol also exfoliates skin, I reckon it is not advisable to use both retinol and aha at the same time. You can use anr after aha.

  3. momo says:

it should be live without or leave without?

  4. Shirleen says:

    Hi Momo,

Hahaha!!! My bad, thanks for spotting it. Corrected.

  5. Yen says:

How much did you buy for Kiehl’s Superbly Efficient Anti-Perspirant & Deodorant Cream? Can i get it in somewhere like Guardian?

  6. Shirleen says:

    Hi Yen,

It costs around $30, can’t remember the exact price. I don’t think you can find similar product at Guardian.

  7. Tempest says:

Hi! I love your blog :)
Could you tell me the best and strongest whitening product? I have very dark hyperpigmentation from my past severe acne and I want to have my unpigmented skin back.

Also, could you tell me the best sheet masks? I love pampering my skin.

    Thank you!

  8. Shirleen says:

    Hi Tempest,

The best whitening serum is Shiseido Haku (only available in Japan), best whitening night moisturizer is Clarins Repair Night Cream, best whitening exfoliant are Brightening Exfoliator & Brightening Peel and spot eraser is Lancome Blanc Expert Gn-Whiteâ„ Generating New Whiteness Spot Eraser.

But don’t expect these products to remove those pigmentation completely, they can only reduce or lighten the spots.

The best sheet mask is Hada Labo Super Haluronic Acid Hydrating Mask.

  9. Yan says:

    Hi Shirleen
Which lightweight moisturizer will u recommend for day use? and night cream?
I am 29 yrs old, have quite alot fine lines for my
    age! :(

  10. Shirleen says:

    Hi Yan,

For day moisturizer, I will recommend Elizabeth Arden Prevage Day Ultra Protection Anti-aging Moisturizer SPF 30 PA++.

For night moisturizer, you can check out Hada Labo Retinol Lifting & Firming Milk or Paula’s Choice RESIST Barrier Repair Moisturizer with Retinol.

  11. Yan says:

    Hi Shirleen
    Thanks alot!

  12. Nur says:

Hi Shirleen, can the “Paula’s Choice Weekly Resurfacing Treatment with 10% Alpha Hydroxy Acid” be use on combination to oily skin? Plus i’ve just bought “RESIST Clearly Remarkable Skin Lightening Gel with 2% BHA” how do i use it? Can i use other brand toner such as Clinique? So do i apply the toner followed by moisturizer then followed by the lightening gel? Thanks.

  13. Shirleen says:

    Hi Nur,

Sure, it is suitable for combination to oily skin.

You can use Resist Skin Lightening Gel w/ 2% BHA after toner before moisturizer and it is more suitable for night use.

Do not use both Lightening Gel and Weekly Resurfacing Treatment on the same day.

Got something to say? Go for it!
