Treatment Review – How I Achieve My Radiance Skin With Microdermabrasion

Recently, I have noticed my skin looking dull and dry, reason due to accumulation of dead skins cells on the surface of my skin. Another obvious indication I have also noticed is the loose powder which I apply every morning doesn’t seems to blend evenly, it somehow looks patchy and cakey on my skin. When this happen, the best method to rejuvenate my skin again, is to go for a good exfoliation.

In order to remove the dead skin cells effectively, I will highly recommend a monthly microdermabrasion session. I have tried and tested many methods of exfoliation, and I would say microdermabrasion session done at Bella Skin Care, is my best remedy so far.

Why exfoliation is essential?

The outer surface of the skin has many layers of dead skin cells which has been pushed upward to the skin surface by the actively growing new skin cells in the deep basal cell layer of the epidermis. These new cells are plumper, have more moisture and after the dead cells are removed by exfoliation the newer cells are exposed and reveal a healthy glowing and more youthful cast to the skin surface. When the dead skin cells are removed, it will help to give a better penetration of rejuvenating topical agents intended to remove pigmentation and stimulate new skin cell formation in the epidermis and collagen production in the dermis.

How microdermabrasion helps to exfoliate my skin

As usual, I will make a trip down to Bella Skin Care located at International Building at Orchard Road for a microdermabrasion session. Microdermabrasion involves the use of a device that first sprays mineral crystals onto my skin and then sucks them back up inside. It’s like sandblasting the skin. As the crystals are swooshed back up into the vacuum, the dead outer layers of skin go with them.

WAHHH!!! See it for yourself, the pictures say it all.
See how dirty is the filter.

Microdermabrasion has helped to unblock my pores, remove my dead skin cells, dirt, environmental debris and skin oils accumulate on the surface of the skin. My skin is slightly pink and minimal red spots appear after the treatment due to my skin sensitivity.

Enlarged pores have been reduced significantly. It also improve my skin texture and give me a radiance glow.

Will I try again? Yes of course, that’s for sure!

Microdemabrasion is available at Bella Skin Care, you may call Angie at 1800-734-0807.

may i know how much is per session?

do u know if it helps for oily skin and enlarged pores?

  2. Shirleen says:

I have signed up as a package which work out around $200 per session. I can’t remember the exact cost but I remember I did some bargaining with them and eventually they gave me a good price.

Yes microdermabrasion helps to reduce the enlarged pores but I’m not too sure if it helps on oily skin.

Hello! Just came across your review on this. I tried this today and I’m concerned if it’ll cause my skin to thin or become sensitive. How has it been for you?

  4. Shirleen says:

    Hi Yukiskura,

It does make my skin become sensitive at times especially if I go for the highest. Nowadays, I will request the therapist to adjust to a lower pressure on my high-bone cheek areas and eye areas. Although there are many claims about skin thinning after microdermabrasion, I don’t think it thin my skin actually.

If you are worry, you can ask the therapist to adjust to a lower pressure.

My skin loves microdermabrasion, I might go for one pretty soon. ;-)

Hi Shirleen, i am also keem on this treatment and like to find out after the treatment do they provide mask like other facial and also do they hard sell other pdt or facial? Tks for your advise and it has become my habit to read your blog.

  6. Shirleen says:

    Hi Shirley,

I’m glad you are one of my loyal readers, thanks. ;-)

Yes they do provide mask after the treatment.

If you are new customer, I believe they will hard sell their facial package after your treatment but in a less aggressive manner. Whenever I say no to a package offer, they wouldn’t push me further anymore.

  7. Shirley says:

Tks for your prompt reply! i hope they would give me a Gd price as i saw your comment that need 8 sessions to see result. btw what is the duration eg how long for the cheek area? i rem i did laser long ago and per area lasted only five min that y i didn’t hv much side effect like u listed. also, i just. bought. a set of paulsachoice resist including the 5% smoothing n retinol moisturer. I am wondering i can use the two together at night?

  8. Shirleen says:

    Hi Shirley,

I think the microdermabrasion alone is about 15-20 minutes for the whole face.

I will not advise you to use both 5% AHA smoothing and retinol serum on the same regimen as both ingredients are pretty strong. You may want to alternate them.

  9. Shirley says:

    Hi Shirleen,
tks! i rem reading your post abt not applying both thus i re cfm with u again.
So i would need to got a night moisturer and i m spolt for choice!

  10. Shirleen says:

    Hi Shirley,

Yes a night moisturizer is essential. Do also remember to skip 5% AHA Smoothing and Retinol serum on the same day after your microdermabrasion.

  11. Shirley says:

    Hi Shirleen
It’s me again:) is microdermabrasion the same as diamond peel as used by beautian?

  12. Shirleen says:

    Hi Shirley,

Both are different. But both have somewhat similar benefits, is to eliminate the dead skin cells on the surface.

  13. Jamie says:

    Hi Shirleen,
for the microdermabrasion process at Bella- do they use the one that releases crystals or a diamond-tipped one? I’ve heard that there are differences, and that the diamond-tipped wand is actually better?

Got something to say? Go for it!
